The History The Village Quartier Militaire is situated on the Central Plateau, eight kilometers away from Saint Pierre and has a very high level of rainfall. The District Council of the Eastern region of Mauritius is found there as well as two primary schools and two secondary schools. It is the business centre for three nearby villages, namely, Providence, Vuillemin and l’Esperance and is also one of the rare villages to have a Football Stadium. The total population of these four regions is around seventeen thousand people. Church Growth
Prior to 1979, a few Pentecostal Christians had to travel to Saint
Pierre and Dagotière in order to worship the Lord. One of them, a
lady residing in Vuillemin decided to put her house at the Lord’s
disposal. During the first meetings, there were only four Christians
and as many as the double of non-Christians. The latter having been
blessed by the Lord accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior an The number of believers was increasing gradually and the places of worship were found to be too small and uncomfortable. The Christians of Quartier Militaire moved into SIX different buildings until 4th December 2005 when a large and appropriate place of worship was inaugurated. The different tasks involved in the set up of this new building were carried out by the Christians themselves and many hidden talents were disclosed during the construction phase. The Assembly of God of Quartier Militaire is the owner of two plot of lands but it is facing a lot of opposition for receiving building permits from the concerned authorities. Please do help us in your prayers. Ministering
