Part indicates the whole
With an extrovert nature man gives much importance to outer things than focusing on the cause of life itself. In a way moral conduct or divine life is considered negligible by many persons when in fact it has the basic qualities to stabilize oneself especially when there are multiple intricacies inside and tough challenges do wait outside in day-to-day life.
and materialism is no less than the currency of the time to cash social, economic and all-round status which inspires and satisfies the mind of the present generation. The coupling of modernization and material comfort is no doubt alluring almost all of us including even the laymen.
Along with the material progress and societal changes we are also witnessing an alarming and increasing number of people falling prey of maladjustment resulting as personal problems namely stress, general ill-health, social disparity etc. within and outside family life to the extent not known before. In such a period of physical transformation of the country many important values are sliding away and the heart of man is all the same from by-gone generations to the present one
to bear the consequences
of rapid transition, either negative or positive.
Very often material comfort fails to give lifelong peace and satisfaction then people try different options to find out a restful way of life. In search of better physical and mental health some people endeavor in the fancies or sports whereas others try business, commerce, yoga, spiritual practices or similar things to face the high tides of the society or to get rid of the daily pressure on them. It is because of the failure of organized religions that we find a different social exposure these days which includes emergence of various spiritual paths and even sects claiming to offer some sort of material
or psychological
well-being.
Far from being a mere social involvement, spirituality naturally cares to provide solace to the needy people and guidance to those who honestly seek a path of preventive steps and solutions. One venturing on the spiritual field will agree that it is neither wise to adhere to the first path falling across nor easy to identify the best path of a perfect guide found at a glance. The concept of a Master is not widely accepted as Lord Buddha himself advised self-reliance for self-realization.
Lord Krishna was ignored. Sri Rama had been exiled. Jesus Christ was even crucified. The mystic of the mystics, Kabir Saheb hammered the religious intelligence and he was opposed in one way or other in his own lifetime. Swami Dayananda brushed up religiosity and had opened avenues of ancient wisdom for a better re-diversion but unfortunately he himself faced empoisoning several times.
Moreover, Anandmurti was jailed for long periods and his philosophies were either disregarded or mishandled in his own milieu and this took place just in last century. Bhagwan Osho`s teachings were jostled in suspicion and widely ridiculed whereas he had hazardously endeavored to re-define religion and tended a new spiritual psyche for the changing world. Similarly, Krishnamurti was less understood in his mystic expose whereas he wanted to review the ongoing slippery beliefs to shape a new society. Even the world famous Saint of the day, Sri Satya Sai Baba is not spared from the so-called skepticism or oppositional mind of very many people.
And this state of mind is not going to change even within decades as pseudo-masters have further complicated the issue. Thus the choice of a Master will always be difficult as long as skepticism is around and we have to admit that this is the consequential tendency or normalcy of the day. Another fact is that if God Himself is so nicely ignored by so many people in everyday life, then whoever the spokesman of the field, is not going to be digested easily.
Masters have always known acceptance and rejection at the same time. This is true even today when contrasting ideas are far more obvious. Consequently, choosing a guide or a path is not an easy task as everyone experiences the same authority quite differently. Some moves quickly on a certain path whereas others are left behind despite of a same technique of a particular path.
It is also true that only partial knowledge of the divine realm is graspable whereas the whole is always unknown and inaccessible even to adepts as it is always changeful by nature. Novices are bound to stay far behind. It is worth accepting gradual divinization or transformation of the self as direct grace of the lord who is better acknowledged or known at later stages mostly. In fact there are different paths for different levels of people and everyone has his own pace of spiritual progress unless a highly enlightened One of a great caliber decides otherwise.
It is so simple and easy to select a path of choice for a handful people whereas a very difficult task for others to make a decision when avenues are many. The following lines may be helpful to know the unknowable who is always knowledgeable.
A seeker feels better and experiences general improvement in his life when a proper technique of spiritual practice is adopted. Similarly, if decision is confirmed and self-confidence is consolidated, intuitive ability is increased, a freedom from complexities and obstacles is felt, clarity of mind and determination is apparent, life-force overflows night and day, righteousness and the bliss of the divine power is graced abundantly, creative urge follows every step and immunity flows around to face seasonal and chronic diseases while enjoying better physical and mental health
___ then be sure that the path is perfect and ultimately beneficial.
Even a few of the indications are sufficient to keep one on the path of choice. For other seekers the purpose of life becomes self-defined within a short period of trial and surrendering to the path becomes natural as an already-in experience. Surely, these are but a few hints to perceive the expression of God within oneself and it is also true that there are many personal ways of knowing the prevalence of the Supreme Being.
