Auspicious dates

According to asian astrology selected dates from lunar calendar are no doubt more auspicious and fruitful for different uplifting ceremonies or sadhnas than normal days picked up according to personal advantages or material  gains.

Apart from birth date, assorted days of the week also provide good rewards.

Fasting on the 11th.day of the waning

or waxing phase of the moon

rewards the sadhak or accomplisher on various levels.

Poornima or full-moon is considered favorable whereas on Amawasya

or dark-night  Mahakali is worshiped to spare oneself

from the malignant occurrences and to

enjoy the grace of Mahakal.

Like the graceful dates related to divine events and divinities,

the fifth day of the lunar month opens the spiritual gateway

and bestows protection on various planes.

The dreams become the guide of the realized or divine dreamer as from this date.

Aum namah Shivaya

Thus the 13th.day of the dark nights

is considered  to be appropriate to get rid of obstacles by offering pure water,

sometimes purposely mixed with different ingredients,

to Lord Shiva so as to gain abundance of life-force and well-being for oneself

in addition to the benefits of the offerings.
