A Message & Appeal to Servas family all over the world

The worst floods in the Pakistan’s history have now killed more than 1600 people and affected more than 10 million more in all over Pakistan.

Torrential rains pounded Punjab province -- the nation's breadbasket -- and the National Disaster Management Authority estimated more than 252,000 houses had been damaged or destroyed in the affected provinces.

Officials reported all wells in the worst-affected areas in the country's northwest had been contaminated and water-borne diseases were spreading fast.

Even as rescue and aid efforts continued in the stricken northwest, authorities began evacuating half a million people further south as floodwaters from the bloated Indus River gushed towards the southern province of Sindh, where hundreds of thousands of people live along its banks.

The floods are the worst natural disaster to hit Pakistan since the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, which killed at least 79,000 people.

Monsoon rains still continue after ripping out bridges, roads and villages.

Government and private relief agencies are managing to provide only 5 percent of what’s required, so please help the flood victims as much as you can.
