Biology is a compulsury subject in the lower classes I to III. It is optional as from Form 4. There are 3 groups of Form 4, they total 75 pupils(average). At Form 6 Level, few pupils opt for Biology as a Main subject. This is due to the enormous belief that Biology is a poor scoring subject at that level. More pupils opt for Biology as a subsidiary subject at Form 6 Level.

Since June 1991, the syllabus comprises 2 sections: (a) a core syllabus which is compulsory (b) options - pupils have to choose 2 out of 5. There options are on contemporary topics e.g Applied Plant Science(very much linked to Agriculture), Applied Genetics, Health and Disease(which is a good introduction to Medical studies).

The department has 3 laboratories and a demonstration room. All Biology classes, both theory and practicals are held there. A practical class is held per week for each form.
