London Marathon - April 17th 2005

No, I never ran the London Marathon, but what can one do if the guys are running just in front of one's residence. Well, the simple answer is:

Take some nice pictures and try to be on TV.

Not sure if I have achieved the latter, even though Esme did ring me and said that she might have seen me when Paula Radcliffe [who eventually came first in the Women's Elite Race], passed McMillan, where I live. And yes, I was there, and I took her picture [see below].

17th April, 2005. Unlike previous years, when I would get up late-ish, and only be able to see the people running for fun, I was able to have a glimpse of some great marathon runners of this era. In fact, I woke up too early [8:00 am, that's early for a Sunday in mid-spring], and the race started at 9:00 am. I initially followed the race on TV and then when I realised that dear old Paula, who was leading the race, was around University of Greenwich, where I work, I rushed out to check her out.

Well, I am not going to narrate what I saw, I will just paste some pictures for you guys to see.
