The Youth Development Centre provides an opportunity for the young people of Mauritius to access information and services in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health in a friendly and helpful atmosphere. Using the YDC will encourage and empower young people to engage in activities that are safe and reliable and will improve their quality of life by promoting decision making based upon informed choice.

The Objectives of the Youth Development centre are to help young people to access information on Sexual and Reproductive Health matters and to provide facilities for activities that are linked to the Sexual and Reproductive health needs of young people. It is also a resource centre, providing educational services to adolescents and young unmarried people for the promotion of a healthier lifestyle. Meeting other young people will also help to promote and stimulate discussion on matters around Sexual and Reproductive Health and will provide the basis for a network of knowledge and information based on the needs and aspirations of youth.
