The family pattern in Mauritius increasingly changing to the nuclear type and the number of women on the labour market is increasing daily. There is a need of Day Care services to help mothers effectively manage their different roles at home, at work and in the community.

The MFPA has offered Day Care services at La Tour Koenig, Surinam and Riviere du Rempart since 1988, 1989 and 1991 respectively.

OBJECTIVES

The Objectives of the Day Care Centres are to

Each Daycare Centre has a Parent/Staff Committee which is renewed at the beginning of every year. The Committee advises on the smooth running of the Daycare Centre, discusses problems and tries to find appropriate solutions. Meetings are held regularly and the interaction between parents and staff helps to create a friendly and healthy atmosphere at the centre.

NETWORKING

Activities are also organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family Welfare & Child Development, Ministry of Health & Quality of Life, Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, Non Governmental Organisations and the private sector.

FACILITIES

RECRUITMENT


Infants aged 3 months to 3 years are normally recruited. Babysitting services are also available for infants aged 3 years and above in the morning, afternoon, on Saturdays and during school holidays.




PERSONNEL

A trained supervisor is responsible for the smooth running of the Daycare Centre. Babycare staff receive on-going training to look after babies and infants

We are happy to welcome your child. Our vision is to make each Daycare Centre become a second home for the child and that parents participate fully in the effective management of the Daycare Centre for the welfare of their child.

07.00 - 18.30(Summer)
07.00 - 18.00 (Winter)

07.00 - 14.00
