Raja Yoga Meditation
The benefits of Raja Yoga:
(a) Raja Yoga is fundamentally a technique to enable someone to improve the quality of his life. The technique allows the individual to know his own self, i.e. he is able to know his good qualities and shortcomings. Normally someone is unhappy because of his shortcomings. Once the individual is aware of these, he can overcome them by the inculcation of divine virtues.
(b) Raja Yoga enables the individual to have control upon his emotions and to use his power of discrimination and decision in the proper way.
(c) The practice of Raja Yoga broadens our vision of life. We live with the consciousness that all human beings are souls, and hence brothers. This helps us to transcend the barriers of colour, creed, caste or religion.
(d) Raja Yoga practice brings about a sense of detachment in the individual. He is aware that his body made up of five elements is of a particular nature and that one day he has to depart from it.
