The universality of Meditation and Contemplation

What is meditation? Meditation is the process of moving from one plane to another, for example from plane A to plane C.  Essentially, the person in meditation leaves the physical plane to travel “inward” penetrating the spiritual realm, passing over the mental or psychic plane. In the spiritual realm there are different levels, and the ultimate level is the oneness with God, the Supreme.

What is contemplation? Some say it is same as meditation, some say it is deeper meditation. My definition is that : contemplation is a state of being in oneness with the an object. It is practicable at all meditation levels. In fact, at different meditation levels the     subject matter or contents of contemplation differ. While meditation deals with the curriculum and the stepwise approach, contemplation refers to the intensive concentration or research study devoted to a particular subject matter.                 Dr Hemraj Gyaram
