 Halley Movement

Halley Movement has carried out a number of research on themes that are the focus of attention in the region as well as in the world. Professionals, experts, volunteers as well as community leaders are all involved when a research is undertaken. Research usually expands over a period of 1 to 2 years depending on the subject matter.

The outcome of a research is usually the publication of a report. Halley Movement has carried out research and produced reports and books on:

  • Poster on Child Abuse

In light with the growing cases of child abuse, Halley Movement deisgned and published a poster to help in its fight against child abuse in Mauritius and Indian Ocean Island. A copy of the poster was distributed to community places, families and schools to raise awareness of the problem.

  • Intergeneration

This booklet gives a brief insight of the Intergenerational process towards integration of all generations for harmonious human relationships

In light the booklet, a poster has also been designed so that it can reach a wider audience. Read more

  • The status of Education in the South of the Country

Halley Movement conducted a research to determine the current level of education in regions in the south of the country. These regions were Batimarais, Benares and Rivieres Des Anguilles. Questionnaires were designed, volunteers were trained, interviews were carried out and the results were  analysed. Among the major issue that came to light was that children in these regions tend to drop out of school after failing primary education. It was also found that once they are out of school, they are deprived of basic education and start looking for work.
