Symposium in Nairobi
In November 2001, I attended a symposium in Nairobi which was hosted by the Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) at the Kenya College of Communications Technologies (KCCT). This symposium was organised by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the "Union des Radiodiffusions et Television Nationales d'Afrique" (URTNA).
The symposium was mainly designed to assist television broadcasting organisations in ascertaining the latest developments in the digital TV broadcasting field and the cost and benefits of integrating new digital technologies into their operations.
Most of the photos on this site were taken by the symposium organisers.

As is usually the case at these symposiums, we were invited to lunch and dinner on many occasions and had a chance to watch different cultural shows. At the Carnivore restaurant in Nairobi there is a wide range of a variety of game meat served in one meal. The succulent steaks and barbecues dishes impact a lifetime experience in your tour. One participant who was served crocodile meat was happy to realise that for once he was reversing some roles.

At the Bomas of Kenya we had the chance to see Africa homesteads in their original indigenous set up reflecting Kenya's different cultures, customs and traditions. The greatest experience however is the displays of traditional music, dancing and songs performed in a splendid arena. You may treat yourself to a camel-riding event.
