They
are small trees or shrubs of 3-9 m of height.
The trunk is 4-25 cm in diameter.
Branches are highly arched. Small
branches are grey or white-grey, subangular.
Young leaves are not flattened. The leaf blades of adults are
elliptical 4-18 x 2-11 cm more or less obtuse at the top, largely cuneiform at
the base and decurrent on the petiole, totally hard. The petiole 0.6-2.5 cm is
hairless. Stipules (1.5 cm) are
fused at the base in the sheath. |
