Hairless
tree not highly branched that can reach up to 6 m in height.
The trunk can reach up to 25 cm in diameter and with a bark that is
mostly brownish in colour, while the inner mass is reddish brown.
The leaves are grouped at the tip of branches and are elliptical
reaching 120 by 7 cm. Inflorescences are terminal and hanging and ranges from
1.5-1.8 m. Flowers are solitary.
The perianth is green outside and greenish white on the inner side.
The stamens are white and 11-13 mm long.
Anthers are pale yellow and grey.
The style is 10-12 mm in length. The
fruit is more or less globular with a diameter of 8-10 mm and green in colour. |
